Taylor Precision Products – More Purple Protection
Taylor Precision Products, a manufacturer of precision thermometers and electronic and mechanical scales now offers a color-coded digital thermometer that is designed for allergen safety, and helps prevent cross contamination. The purple color alerts staff to follow special food allergy procedures when preparing a meal.
This product fits with others like San Jamar Chef Revival’s Saf-T-Zone system, the special food prep kit with a color-coded purple cutting board and cooking utensils, meant to help operators protect diners with food allergies.
The thermometer is waterproof, dishmachine-safe and comes with a protective purple sleeve and pocket clip. Both the case and sleeve are manufactured with materials that include Safe-T-Guard antimicrobial additives to inhibit the growth of pathogens.
Here are a few other features:
- Backlit LCD with “Hold” function for easy reading
- 4.5” stainless steel probe
- Recalibration function for use in HACCP programs
- Temperature range from 500°F to -40°F
- Quick response time with 1-second updates
- High and low temp recall feature
- FDA-recommended 1.5mm diameter step-down probe
- NSF listed
The thermometer comes with an easy-to-replace CR2032 lithium battery installed. A ten second “auto-off” feature helps extend battery life, but can be disabled when not needed.
The Taylor waterproof allergen digital thermometer is a great addition to any proprietor’s purple protection plan for patrons plagued by foodborne allergens. Details should be available on the Taylor Precision website soon, but until then, contact their customer support center for more information.
