It Looks and Feels Like a Candle: The TruFlame LED
By: Lee Davis
Leave it to Hollowick. Their recently introduced TruFlame LED Wax Pillars are just that: real wax pillars. Only instead of a wick running down the center, their pillars are lit up using a very special battery operated LED. TruFlame “Evolution” technology features a flickering LED, that also matches the color of natural flame. These are the most realistic-looking LED candles we’ve seen.
TruFlame Pillars are ideal accent lights for hotel lobbies and lounges. They work great in sconces or centerpieces, or wherever an open flame poses safety issues. Better yet, they can be operated using a remote control (imagine the possibilities)! You can turn them on and off manually, or set them to turn on at the same time every day, with 4, 6 or 8 hour run times. Hollowick estimates 450 hours of operation between battery changes.
The unscented ivory pillars are 3 and 4 inches in diameter and come in a variety of heights from 4 to 8 inches. Paul Kuzina, Director of Marketing for Hollowick, said there are no immediate plans to make TruFlame Pillars in other colors, but he didn’t rule out the possibility in the future.
