Bob McLachlan, Hawkeye Foodservice

Bob was born and raised in Iowa, spending most of his time in Iowa City. For the past 27 years, Bob has been a valuable team member of Hawkeye Foodservice. He started in the customer service arena, then moved into purchasing and finally into the Equipment and Supplies Department where he has remained for the past 15 years.

According to Bill Ledger, Hawkeye Director of Bev/Chem/Equip & Supplies, "Bob's plans to retire in July 2008 were changed when his E & S team members, DSR's, and especially his customers decided retirement for Bob was not a good idea. Bob loves his job. He loves the people he works with, the customers who have become family, and the challenges that the E & S sales profession brings him. Bob is a true professional through his actions and work ethic; he loves people and people love him. Bob enjoys visiting his customers in their home (as he refers to it) and enjoys the challenge of finding the right products for each of his customers."

At SEFA, we are very honored to celebrate Bob and the example he sets for professionalism, commitment and good character. Along with Bob's customers, colleagues and friends, we are also glad Bob has changed his July retirement plans. In addition to his contribution to the industry, he is just a great person to be around.
